Unfortunately, strongman star from Austria Manfred Hoeberl couldn’t take a part in contest. He was in a car accident in 1994 and lost about 40kg of his bodyweight, he also got a problem with nerve.

Event 1. Truck Pull with the Firetruck (about 40 tons). Gerrit Badenhorst was the fastest with 33.26 sec. Magnus Ver Magnusson finished with 34.37 sec and Heinz Ollesch showed third time – 34.64 sec.

Event 2. Car flip + running. Athletes had to flip the car twice and then run to the finish as fast as it possible. They had to run on the sand, so it was hard. Badenhorst had the best time – 13.9 sec, Magnusson was second and Varalahti was third.

Event 3. Overhead press (barbell with stones behind the head from the racks) for max weight. Gary Taylor, who was the great Olympic weightlifter, won the event with 210 kg. Joe Onosai lifted 205 kg and Magnusson – 200 kg.

Event 4. Farmer’s Walk: 2 cylinders 150 kg each for 70 meters distance (with turn). Marko Varalahti was the best with 33.64 sec time, Magnusson finished second with 45.3 sec, and Badenhorst showed third time – 50.51 sec.

Event 5. Caber toss over the bar (for height). Athlete had to run to the sea and then throw the caber over the bar. Magnusson and Badenhorst showed the best result – 5 m 45 cm, Wayne Price was third.

Event 6. Tug of war. Can’t describe the machine, which was used this time, but you can see in on 35th minute of the video (in our website). Heinz Ollesch was first, Wayne Price second and Badenhorst third.

Event 7. Squat with the platform on the shoulders for max weight. Magnusson wn with 437.5 kg, Badenhorst and Taylor finished with 407.5 kg.

The final Event: Loading Madley: sandbag 90 kg, box 70 kg, barrel 60 kg, anchor 110kg and anchors chain 50 kg. Marko Varalahti finished with 1min 17.64sec, Magnusson had a trouble with barrel, which fell down when he put it into the platform, so his time was 1min 33.15sec. Phil Martin was third with 1 min 55.57sec.

So, Magnus Ver Magnusson became the World’s Strongest Man third time in his career.
